Description for the collection. As the back cover says, nine quintessential examples of Agatha Christie's brilliance are contained in this collection of early short stories - including the first one she ever wrote. They provide a unique glimpse of the Queen of Crime in the making.

Description for the short story, While the Light Lasts. Written during Agatha Christie’s own tour of Africa, a Rhodesian tobacco plantation is the setting for a first world war widow’s unexpected visitor from beyond the grave. She's astonished - how will she handle it? The story is also in the anthology, The Harlequin Tea Set and Other Stories.

Librarian's note #3: the entries for the other 8 individual stories are elsewhere on GR. Characters, settings, descriptions, etc. can be found there.
