Asianism and the Fall of Empire: India's Road to Freedom (California World History Library) (Volume 35)

Offering a new global perspective on modern Indian history, 𝘈𝘴𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘰𝘧 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘦: 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘢’𝘴 𝘙𝘰𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘰𝘮 explores the transnational history of Asianism in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries and its role in shaping Indian anticolonialism- both nonviolent and violent- against British rule. Asia emerges in this retelling not as an inert geographical category, but as a singular agent of change in modern world history.
