Curious George Plants a Tree

Overview
Curious George loves to go to the science museum and he persuades the man with the yellow hat to take him there again when he finds out that the museum is planning Ya “How You Can Take Care of Your Planet Day” dedicated to recycling and planting trees.

George, when he returns home, wants to apply what he learnt at the museum in his neighbourhood. But little monkeys eager to help can sometimes become little monkeys getting into trouble and this is what happened to George.

The neighbours are obviously not impressed but ultimately the whole community can’t wait to lend a hand. And in the end George helps the museum to plant anew tree and on the back cover of the book he presents six steps for planting a tree, In addition there are 20 tips to help conserve energy and resources at the end of the story.

Monica Perez has done an admirable job in recreating George and the man with the yellow hat in its original style and this is augmented by the superb illustrations by Anna Grossnickle Hines. The originators of George, Margaret and H.S. Rey, would be impressed.
