Libby Preston has found a town where no one knows her secret. In the tiny, rural community of Owatura on New Zealand’s South Island, she can escape the past and give her young daughter a normal life.
But when a double-jointed dance move almost blows Libby’s cover, she can’t risk putting their lives in danger again. That’s why she accepts the lead role in the local theatre club’s production starring opposite rugged, local legend Oliver Leyendecker.
Oliver can’t wait to leave Owatura and his family’s expectations behind. He recognises Libby as a lost soul, except he refuses to give in to their attraction and have another reason tying him to his hometown.
Then Oliver unwittingly puts a sleazy private detective on her tail, and Libby must decide if it’s time to run again… or stay and fight.
But if she stays, she’ll have to learn to fire a shotgun. And, more frightening still, put her trust in love.
