The Call (The Magnustra Chronicles Book 1)

Ninety-five years ago the Sun was struck. Humanity scattered. Nobody has been home since.

In 2191 an asteroid called Icarus hit the Sun, and the storms that followed cut the human race into pieces — buried in protectorates beneath the Earth, dug in on the Moon and Mars, and gone into Magnustra, a star cluster on the far side of the Milky Way.

It is 2286. Phia Trondar is fifteen, a botany student on Moon Base Alpha, and she has just lost her grandmother — the last family she had. The last thing they argued about was her father: the man who went out on a mission nobody will discuss, and never came back.

Phia has one way to reach him. The data vaults. And she is very good at getting into places she is not supposed to be.

What she finds goes further than her father. A new mission is recruiting crew. The corporation that spotted Icarus first is keeping its own counsel on Mars. And the laws written a century ago to keep artificial intelligence on a leash are being quietly tested.

Some things are buried for a reason.

THE CALL is Book One of The Magnustra Chronicles.
