Killer Wife

Beautiful Bonnie Connelly of Hot Springs, Arkansas, admits killing her first husband—but not the second or third.

Joe Connelly’s life ends with a bullet on a visit to his estranged wife Bonnie Connelly in April of 1959. Handsome Tommy Hunter weds Bonnie in 1964 and is fatally killed 11 months later by a shotgun blast. Don Rowland, 21-year-old dance-floor king of Dugan’s Oasis Lounge in Hot Springs, Arkansas marries 45-year-old Bonnie in September 1968. Then, after his violent death from a pistol and clawhammer on a November 1969 night, she declares him the victim of masked intruders.

In Killer Wife, Bitty Martin (author of the award-winning true crime book Snake Eyes) untangles the mysteries of Bonnie’s many fatal loves for the first time. Featuring gripping storytelling, in-depth research, and interviews with victims’ family members, this page-turning true tale of murder is the only account of the attractive Southern woman who preferred a bullet to a divorce.
