A Better Proposal (A Bluebird Sky, #1)

Jill Northrop has an impressive career, a fervent desire for control, and a desperate need to get as far away from her old life as possible. Now what she needs is a plan. So, when her firm offers her a year-long contract on the other side of the country, she pounces on the opportunity for a fresh start. Perfect.

Until she meets her first big client.

Alex Campbell shows up in her office: the glowering, impossible teacher’s assistant who made her first year of university miserable. He’s perpetually disorganized, chronically late, and ready to do just about anything to get his tech to market. That anything includes letting his partner talk him into hiring Jill to write the funding proposal for their start up.

But now eight years later, Alex isn’t the same moody jerk she remembers, and Jill finds herself having unnerving thoughts about her smart, good-looking client.

A disaster of an office, a brand-new file, and a jumble of conflicting feelings. With everything going wrong, can she make sure her carefully laid plans go right?
