Operation Playboy

Sex. Drugs. Danger. Death.
Operation Playboy is Kathryn Bonella’s adrenaline-charged true-crime story of Brazilian surfers who became international drug traffickers — moving cocaine around the world while living a high-risk life of surfing, five-star hotels, beautiful women and relentless partying.

Based on extensive firsthand interviews with traffickers, drug mules, their bosses and the Brazilian Federal Police officers hunting them, Bonella takes readers inside an international cocaine-smuggling network operating across Brazil, Bali, Europe and beyond. The money is huge, the lifestyle intoxicating — but one mistake can mean prison, betrayal or death.

Closing in is a determined Brazilian Federal Police investigator and his small team, battling corruption as they build the operation designed to bring the traffickers down: Operation Playboy.

Fast-paced and uncensored, Operation Playboy is the true story of international drug trafficking, organised crime and the global police hunt for a group of surfers who believed they could stay one step ahead.
