Empty Nest (Birds of a Feather Mystery #2)

Four poisoned birds. One vengeful killer. Now they have a human victim in their sights . . .

When toxic mold is found at her cozy little cottage, Jools knows it’s time to move. She takes a room at rambling old Hoggin Hall, home of her batty but well-meaning boss, Earl Fotheringill.

Nothing about the place feels like home: from Jools’s lumpy bed to the snooty dinner guests. And then there’s Cecil, the Earl’s sulky young son and heir. What has Jools ever done to ruffle his feathers?

She heads out for a bracing stroll around the orchard — only to stumble on a trail of dead sparrowhawks. Lying belly up among the trees.

Sensing foul play, Jools decides to investigate. But her snooping doesn’t go unnoticed. Someone on the grounds is watching her like a hawk.

Before long, Jools’s busy-bodying turns up a human body — one of her fellow guests!

Can she catch the killer before she has her own wings clipped?
