A Wayward Movement (Magic of Dust and Movement #2)

A prince with a reputation for breaking hearts.
The girl who first broke his.
A threat they can only overcome together.

Alina has only two things of value—her ability to harness the magic generated by every movement around her, and her memories of a stolen teenage romance with Siqual’s crown prince. Both she prefers to keep quiet, the first because those skilled in magic are mysteriously disappearing from her town. And the second because…well, everyone knows Prince Xavier’s reputation. She’s embarrassed she once fell for his charm.

Xavier not only knows his reputation, he embraces it. When you’ve been told all your life that you’re flighty and irresponsible, there’s a certain entertainment in proving everyone right. But underneath the facade, there are things he cares about. Maybe even a heart that’s still a little broken from the rejection that crushed it a decade ago.

The king is surprised when Xavier volunteers to investigate the disappearances, but not as surprised as Xavier is when it throws Alina back across his path. The threat is real, and there’s no time for regrets or second chances. But when Alina’s life is on the line, can she—or the kingdom—really rely on Siqual’s wayward prince?
