In 1972, sin did abound. The state of Georgia’s abortions had reached an all-time high. Corruption from President Richard Nixon’s Whitehouse – called the Watergate scandal – spilled out onto every newspaper and television newscast, nationwide. Democratic presidential hopeful and infamous segregationist, Governor George Corley Wallace – of Alabama – was shot to death. A band of Islamic terrorists opened fire on the Israeli Olympic team, murdering 11 people in what was called the Munich Massacre. A gay-pride parade marched down Peach Street in Atlanta months before the city’s radically liberal paper was fire-bombed. The first x-rated animated movie, Fritz the Cat; Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange; and the award-winning documentary following the fraudulent evangelist and faith healer, Marjoe, played in theaters nationwide.

Yet, grace did abound more. Just two years after the Hollywood film adaptation of the book The Cross and the Switchblade – which was Eric Estrada’s cinematic debut – the Reverend Billy Graham continued to travel across the world, filling stadiums with those hungry for the gospel of Jesus Christ, Pastor Jimmy Swaggart’s music neared the top of the gospel charts, and the invisible hand of GOD still moved in the lives of them who the world did not know.

Based on an array of true stories, real people, real ministries, real exorcisms, and other supernatural occurrences comes the southern gothic novel, Holy Ghost Exorcist. Its story follows the lives of the rural, bi-vocational Georgian, Pentecostal-Holiness pastor, Jackie Noble, and his wife, Penny, as they enter into deliverance ministry – casting out devils and setting the captives free.
