Where the Stars Scream for Mercy (Dragonveil, #1)

“See the sky and those shimmering bastards? This is a land where the stars scream for mercy, my friend.”

Where the Stars Scream for Mercy launches Dragonveil, an epic fantasy series tinged with a shadow of grimdark. Passion and fury collide in a tale driven by emotional intensity, fast pacing, and vivid action scenes.

In the sun-kissed land of Slarentia, where olive groves meet glittering coasts, the ancient dragongods once divided their physical form into two mortal parts; one human, one dragon. A dangerous disease now rages across Slarentia, turning good-hearted dragonveils into feral beasts capable of no rational thought.

When Whisper, a member of a nomadic caravan, witnesses the massacre of her family and friends, she flees into the woods with grief and guilt as her sole companions. Discovered by a trio of templars who suspect her to bear the blood of dragons, Whisper is taken to the Temple of Flame and Scale. There, she meets a renowned shanaak named Therodd and finds unexpected solace and love inside the temple walls.

But Whisper’s journey has only begun. She must hone her skills as a bladeswoman, confront her trauma, and learn what it truly means to be a dragonveil. Yet another force calls to her; a voice from beyond, urging her towards the ocean – to join the Deep Blue and drown in the beauty of its salty water. And abandon everything else.
