An Academic Death (Lambert and Hook #14)

Liz Upson’s husband Matthew is missing. He left the house on Friday morning and four days later still hasn’t returned.

Matthew’s mother insists that her son hasn’t just disappeared and Detectives Lambert and Hook wonder if this is more than just a missing person’s case.

Then Matthew’s body is discovered in the Malvern hills with a bullet lodged in his head.

Matthew was not your usual troublemaker — he was a well-respected history lecturer at the University of Gloucestershire. But the more Lambert and Hook dig, the more trouble they find.

As the suspect list grows, the detectives try to shed light on Matthew Upson’s final days, but they’re sure that someone is lying.

In a case where nothing is as it seems, Lambert and Hook must question everything to catch a killer.
