Duke's Diversion

He wears a disguise to discover the truth. She wears one to keep secrets.

Transformed from pub manager to the Duke of Rutland overnight, Xander Whitcomb sees a chance to help the working class through his seat in the House of Lords. But first and foremost, he must learn his newfound role to navigate the peculiar rules of the Ton and circumvent an unexpected marriage contract to a titled lady he’s never met.

Lady Evelyn Allen, betrothed to the late Duke of Rutland as part of a familial alliance, finds herself at the whim of his successor’s willingness to honor the betrothal. More importantly, she must ascertain whether she wants him to honor it. Masquerading as a maid in his household seems like the perfect cover to take stock of the stranger who holds her fate in his hands.

When Xander discovers his new and rather fetching maid understands the ins and outs of London society, he requests her assistance. As teaching leads to moonlit dancing and passion, Evelyn is trapped in a web of lies. She’s neither maid nor duchess, merely the duke’s diversion.
