The Dragonmaster's Mate (Fire and Desire, #4)

As her father lay dying, I swore always to protect fifteen-year-old Zenevieve. I took the grieving girl in, and she filled my life with sunshine. Now she’s grown, she’s looking for a mate, and her eyes have turned to me.

Zenevieve has always been my weakness, but she’s not the woman who has been promised to me. I’m waiting for the Omega I’ve never met, who may have died, who could be lost to me forever. I will wait for her, because I would rather perish in dragonfire than touch a woman who isn’t mine.

But starving for my mate burns my soul. I can resist all temptation, until one day I slip, and I catch the wrong woman in my arms. Sweet, adoring Zenevieve will never forgive me for rejecting her, and I’ll never forgive myself for causing her pain.

The world ends, and then it begins again.

Five hundred years later, I’ve got a second chance to make things right. This time around, I’m doing everything differently. The woman I shouldn’t want is going to be mine.

Author’s The Dragonmaster’s Mate is a standalone rejected mates, second chance, guardian/ward romance. There’s a ten-year age gap and a lot of crushing on a forbidden older man. You don’t have to have read the first three books in the series, but it's recommended.
