One Last Try (Try for Love, #1)

When the rookie who ended your rugby career moves in next door.

Retired legend Owen Bosley is used to the quiet life. After a career ending injury eight years ago, Owen leaves it all behind. Now he's the landlord of his local pub in a chocolate-box village. The Little Thatch is the heart of the community, but there's one problem. The pub needs expensive renovation work, so to help pay for the repairs, Owen rents out his cottage and moves into the tiny apartment upstairs. But nothing could prepare him for who would move in.

Pro rugby star Mathias Jones never expected to be signed to the one team whose fans despise him, but some opportunities are too good to pass up. A few months with the Centurions seem like an eternity, but Mathias is determined to see it through.

Seeking refuge in the quiet countryside, Mathias figures he can escape the fallout from his mistakes and the crowds who insist on reminding him. But when he meets his new landlord, it's clear that running from his past won’t be easy.

For the former rivals, finding common ground on opposite sides of the bar should be easier than on the field. But with Owen overwhelmed by renovations and Matthias fighting to prove himself, the weight of their shared history may be one challenge too big to tackle.

One Last Try is an age gap MM rugby romance with a cheery single dad pub owner and a grumpy sportsman. Expect slow burn, forced proximity, a barrel of rugby puns, and a village full of hilarious punters.
