Supernatural tales 58: Spring 2025
Overview
Six new stories of the Ghostly, Weird, and Uncanny.
‘What’s Inside’ by Peter Kenny
The tale of a person who dresses up as a giant rabbit for a living. If 'clothes maketh the man', what does a furry costume do to a somewhat troubled individual?
‘Bright By Name’ by Katherine Haynes
A clever if somewhat unscrupulous woman encounters a mystery at her daughter's school. Buried treasure, puzzle solving, and amateur dramatics combine to reveal that sometimes a teacher is after something more substantial than an apple.
'The Alleyway' by Michael Chislett. A welcome return to ST by one of London's masters of the weird tale. A superficially simple tale of a man who goes shopping and encounters some interesting people(?) on a footpath near the allotments.
‘In Another Country’ by Mark Nicholls
A council employee is pestered by a certain Mrs. Blenkinsop, who seems concerned about an ancient right of way. But where exactly does this path lead, and who might frequent it? ‘
The Far Side of the Lake’ by Cliff McNish

‘Villa Metrobian' by Sam Dawson The author and illustrator returns to a WW2 setting for the story of a soldier preparing to perpetrate a hideous crime. But perhaps things are not quite as they seem...
