Awakenings A Journey

Awakenings: A Journey begins with my Seminary years evolving into my entry into the
United States Marine Corps. The journey encompasses the enlightenment of a world
that no one could imagine. Trauma, depression, confusion, and the solitude that was
left behind are spelled out through poetry in unique ways. The relationship between
people I knew became strained because I wasn’t the same. I emphasized the risky
behaviors that led to my seeking professional help. This led to an awakening and
rekindling of spiritual powers I found in the great counselor, Jesus. In the final chapter
there is injected humor.
