The Grumpy Alpha's Vampire Mate (District of Wolf Desires #9)

Fate got it wrong.
That wolf pup who works on the docks can’t be my mate.

Since when does the Goddess hook up vamps and wolves?
I felt the bond like electricity the day Beckett and I made eye contact across the dock.

We’ve barely spoken over the years.
I’ll admit, he’d be my type—if he weren’t a wolf.

I served food to his crew, but the Alpha himself acted like I didn’t exist.
Until he storms into my shack, growling that I must’ve used magic to trap him.

Before I can tell him off, an unfamiliar ship steals his usual dock.
This changes everything.

One second he's accusing me—the next, he's grumbling about keeping me safe.
Turns out the ship’s packed with smugglers, trading in magic and vampire body parts.

At first, I thought it was instinct, him saving himself from the pain of a broken bond.
But instincts don’t linger in your mind... or set your skin on fire.

Within days, it’s clear the smugglers have to go. Especially after Beckett catches them hauling out a cursed artifact.

We’re gearing up for battle. But the bigger fight might be surviving each other.
