Eight Days Anxious (Mylas Grey #8)

Private investigator Mylas Grey accepts any case as long as it doesn’t violate the law.
Does the Brennan case do that? He’s not sure. He accepts it anyway.

He accepts the Brennan case because Jason Brennan is holding a United States senator hostage. But that’s not the full story. The full story is much more complicated.

It’s complicated because it involves finding a missing wife and daughter . . .

Brennan’s wife and daughter disappeared when he was sent to prison ten years ago. Now it’s up to Mylas to find them. But can he do it in eight days?

It’s complicated because it involves discovering who murdered a social activist . . .

Brennan was convicted of murdering social activist Anna Loring during a protest rally on the National Mall. Brennan didn’t do it, and now Mylas is determined to find out who did.

It’s complicated because it involves keeping secrets from law enforcement . . .

If the police are notified, Brennan is threatening to kill the senator, and he’s wired the house with explosives to show he’s serious. In spite of the danger, Mylas asks a homicide detective to retrieve the Loring murder file from the police archives.

As the clock ticks down, Mylas must maneuver his way through a maze of political ambition, moral corruption, and judicial misconduct, which challenges his investigative skills, tests his newfound faith, and draws him closer to Whitney.
