A Brush with Death

A murder no one wants to investigate. A journalist who won't walk away. An FBI agent who's falling fast.

When Ava Montoya discovers her friend and colleague at the South Florida Gazette brutally murdered in front of her home, the police are sure it’s drug related. But Ava knows better—and she’s not about to let them close the case without uncovering the truth. Now she’s investigating a killer, and if she’s not careful, what she discovers could turn her into his next target.

FBI agent Marcus Anderson is supposed to be on vacation visiting his mom. Instead, he’s chasing a beautiful journalist hell bent on exposing a killer at any cost. Navigating the glamorous world of museums, artists, forgery and millionaire collectors isn’t exactly piña coladas at the beach. But Marcus knows trouble, and Ava’s headed straight for it.

Keeping Ava safe is Marcus’s first priority, but the closer she gets to the truth—and the closer they get to each other—the deeper they descend into danger. Someone wants to silence Ava, and if they don’t expose the killer before it’s too late, their passion won’t be the only thing that doesn’t survive.
