Stopping a Deputy Killer: The Youngest U.S. Marshal (Series Book 5)

Deputy U.S. Marshal murdered. Killer loose. U.S. Marshal coming.

A federal lawman is gunned down. An eighteen-year-old U.S. Marshal is assigned to the case. He has one month to find the killer.

Ordered to a town over two hundred miles away, alone in a strange place with no help, the task is nearly impossible. Three years below the minimum age requirement for a U.S. Marshal, Zeke Halstead fears Washington wants him to fail so they can get rid of him now that his grandfather, a legendary U.S. Marshal, is dead.

Desperate to keep his job and wishing he didn’t have to go, Zeke boards the stage the next morning determined to catch the killer and return home to Sinclair.

But as the stage rolls west and miles pass by, Zeke, who is not a trained investigator, realizes his days as a U.S. Marshal are likely coming to an end. Will Zeke lose his job, and leave Sinclair in disgrace, never to see Preacher or Emma again?

If you like battling impossible odds, determination to succeed, and courage to stand alone for what’s right, then join Zeke on his journey to overcome evil in a town where more men die . . . and the killer turns his gun on Zeke.

Stopping a Deputy Killer is the fifth book in the Zeke Halstead, U.S. Marshal Western series.
