Overview
Can an amateur podcaster solve his own murder live on air?

Haunting #401: The Paragon Phantom

Number of ghosts: At least six and a half

Location: The Paragon Hotel, Cornwall

History: Built in 1899 and opened its doors to guests in 1900, The Paragon is claimed to be Cornwall’s most haunted building and the home to a long spate of mysterious deaths and disappearances, including most recently a famous local actress.

Wanted: Figure out what’s causing the mysterious deaths and stop it.

The Expert: Podcaster extraordinaire Gary Runcorn.

The Complication: International surf legend and ghost of twenty eight years, Trystan Retallack.

Gary Runcorn is a boring man. Even his name is boring. He presents Britain’s dullest, and unsurprisingly, most unsuccessful true crime podcast, and he’d do just about anything to increase his listener numbers.

Including dying for them.

When the opportunity to work for an infamous paranormal hunting team The ExorSquad arises, Gary grabs it with both hands in the hopes of uncovering an exclusive mystery or two for his radio show.

He soon finds himself in the cliffside location of Cornwall’s most haunted hotel and the presence of The Paragon Phantom, but Gary never expected that on his first night he himself would fall victim to this gruesome unsolved mystery.

With the help of the hotel’s spectral residents, including one very charming local surfer dude Trystan, Gary sets up his new studio and endeavours to solve his own homicide, live on air.

The ExorSquad Series is a collection of standalone MM romcoms centred around the unfortunate employees of ExorSquad Ltd, the UK's shadiest ghost-busting operation. Expect supernatural shenanigans, things that go bump in the night, sizzling encounters, and hard-won happy-ever-afters.
