Two Minutes to Everything

People say you decide whether you like someone in fifteen seconds. Whether you're attracted to them in thirty. And within two minutes — less time than it takes to boil water — you've decided if you'll see them again.

Daniel has been thinking about two-minute moments his whole life.

*Two Minutes to Everything* is the story of three paths that collapsed into one life. A boy in a hockey crease who learned to hold the line against everything the world could throw at him. An almost-rockstar who wrote a song for a girl who was already leaving. A relentless builder who created companies from nothing — and spent decades confusing provision with love.

Moving from the arenas of 1970s Burlington to the venture capital firms of Sand Hill Road, from a kitchen in Montreal where a marriage ends quietly to a pier in Venice where a ring comes out of a pocket, from a hospital corridor where a single word means everything to a bar on Queen West where a woman in a Boy George hat looks at Daniel and says *you can stop hiding now* — this is a novel about what it costs to be impressive, and what it takes to finally be known.

Funny and devastating in equal measure, *Two Minutes to Everything* asks the question that shadows every chapter: what is the difference between being seen and being understood? And is it ever too late to find out?

A novel of uncommon emotional precision.
