The Bear on the Mountain (Choose the Bear Book 1)

“Queen of the mountain - the air cold and clean. My companion was neither human nor beast. It was terra incognita and I didn’t want to leave.”

Kira was a good girl. She did as her mother told her, and it got her through prestigious private schools, overloaded curriculums, and a doctorate in a respected field.

The shining glory (at least for her mother) was that she also nabbed herself a surgeon fiancé from a good family. All seemed great. Every carefully laid plan was coming to fruition until said surgeon fiancé cheated and got another girl pregnant.

Disgusted, Kira left. The veterinarian was determined to make the most of her new life in Maine and prove she could do it on her own. However, when a fateful storm and a sprained ankle brought her face to face with a grim reality, it was a stern looking mountain man who came to her aid. His touch was gentle and his eyes glowed a metallic bronze.

Could she trust this new stranger to save her? More importantly, could she dare to trust another with her heart?
