Wanderers of Alandra: An Epic YA Fantasy Novel (Found-Family, Unique World, Forbidden Magic)
Overview
#found-family #forbidden-magic
Sixteen-year-old Geoff throws knives for a living. Juggles them even. Usually while they're on fire. So, for a young Wandering performer, he's no stranger to danger. He thrives on thrill—far from his toxic family—venturing through the metallic world of Alandra with his adopted Wanderer family.
That is, until he makes the mistake of saving the life of a fugitive.
Unrelenting soldiers have chased this fugitive, Aidal, across the forested kingdom, Ethamiar. She turns to the Wanderers, of all people, to help her, promising them something Geoff can't deny: gems. But what starts as a simple journey, devolves into a dangerous game of infiltration, rebellion, and survival. All the while, Aidal has been keeping secrets that could threaten Geoff and his Wanderer family.
What has left her jaded?
What really happened to cause her to become a fugitive?
And if Geoff decides to join her cause, will he take the fall with Aidal...or unveil the inner workings of the sinister villain behind it all?
What readers are saying:
"I can’t recommend Wanderers of Alandra enough for young adult or adult readers.
While it’s been awhile since I’ve stuck my nose into a fantasy book, this book took me right back to why I loved them in the first place. I had incredible fun imagining the world of Alandra as I followed the adventures of Geoff and the Wanderers.
As I got to know Geoff, I found myself relating to his use of humor to brush off the seriousness of a situation but also struggling with his own morality as he reflected on his decisions. With the variety of characters in the Wanderers and those we meet along the way, I think we can all find ourselves in parts of this story. The author has a well-thought out sense of each character and the writing reflects that.
The author also builds a fascinating and fun world that challenged my idea of what life can look like in other worlds. I loved the idea of Dralans and the metallic world of Alandra that this takes place in and I hope to get to explore more of this in the future.
There is a little bit of everything in here for everyone: coming-to-age, family, action, fantasy creatures, magic, and even a bit of will-they-won’t-they. I highly recommend this book to anyone that enjoys an adventure."

“This book has everything I love in a novel: a new unique world to discover, substantial characters with intriguing backgrounds, thrills and the unexpected, humorous moments that make me laugh out loud, and an underlying moral fiber. I'm impatiently awaiting the next in the series!”

“Wanderers” is an immersive, character-driven fantasy that completely pulls you in —I can’t wait to read it to my girls!”
