Obsession (His Obsession #1)

He can have anyone in the world, and for some reason he picked me…

Two weeks ago I crossed the country with two suitcases and three hundred dollars, running from a man who burned my life to the ground.

I'm sleeping on my best friend's couch, and this job is the only thing keeping me off the street.

This morning I came into work early for a file, and the whole floor was empty.

My boss's laptop was open on his desk with the screen still glowing.

It was a message to his brother, sent five minutes ago.

"I can't stop myself. I'm obsessed with her."

I read it three times, and then the door clicked shut behind me.

He crossed the room until my hip hit the edge of his desk and there was nowhere left to go.

"Is that about me?" I said.

He braced both hands on the desk beside me, leaned in, and said, "What would you do if it was?"
