Protected from Reprisal (Blade & Arrow Shadow Team #4; Special Forces: Operation Alpha)

When I was captured, my life fell apart.

Before, I was strong. Confident. Brave. I'd worked hard to gain the respect of my Green Beret teammates, and I was proud of the soldier I'd become.

Then our mission went wrong, and I was held in captivity for months. And the woman who was eventually rescued wasn’t the same one I’d been before.

Two years on, I have a new life as a civilian, working for a robotics company. I create prosthetics for veterans. And I have friends who understand what I've been through, like Ace. All things considered, I should count myself as lucky when things could have been so much worse.

Then my luck runs out again. Now I’m in danger, except this time, I don’t know the enemy.

We both had demons holding us back.

I knew Yara had suffered during her captivity. But it wasn’t until I found her having a panic attack that I really understood how much she still struggled with it.

Finding her like that kicked my protective instincts into overdrive. But she didn’t want me to protect her. She wanted to do it herself.

Still, I wasn't about to turn my back on my friend, so I came up with excuses to see her more often. And if I happened to be attracted to her more than any other woman I’ve known? It didn’t matter, because neither of us were looking for a relationship.

Then Yara ends up in danger again. And when I find her, bloody and bruised after a violent attack, all bets are off. I’ll do whatever it takes to protect her.

Protected from Reprisal is a steamy friends to lovers story featuring a protective alpha hero, a strong heroine struggling with her past, a team of Army veterans, found family, forced proximity, thrilling twists, and a guaranteed HEA. Can be read as a standalone.
