Hallow's Eve

“To the shadows and vines, the soul awaits. The cursed and the damned may walk through the gates. Accept the sacrifice and grant me the strength. Her soul is mine, promised to take.”

For years I’ve been told to stay away from the Dark Forest. There’s creatures hovering at the tree line, waiting to capture its prey. Unlucky for me, I’m the one they seek. So I've been warned.

My descendants are the witches of Salem who traveled to Hallow, seeking refuge from the horrors they faced. It’s believed that a curse was placed upon our bloodline, damning our souls.

Nightmares begin to thread itself in a damning web while I sleep. One shows me a terrified girl, clawing her way from the vulgar creature. The other…three dangerously, intoxicating demons, luring me to them to satisfy their thirst. Each dream, I wake up from a cold sweat.

I always believed the stories my aunt told me growing up were a bunch of folklore to scare me away from the Dark Forest…

Until it wasn’t…
