Boots, Snow and Mistletoe (Cantrell Mountain Rescue, Book 2)

When he rescued a wild kitten at Christmas, he never expected to find forever under the tree.

Army veteran Charlie Wilmington spent years longing for a white Christmas at home in Cantrell, Colorado, only to find that civilian life isn’t all hot chocolates and candy canes. But when a stray kitten appears in his woodpile, he’s got no option but to ask for help dealing with the pint-sized furball intent on disrupting his hard-won peace and quiet.

Saskia McNeill’s never had a proper family Christmas, but running Meow Cat Rescue helps take her mind off what she’s missing. Until she meets Charlie the reclusive mountain man, whose overbearing family is just what Saskia has always wanted. She’s determined to help Charlie realise how much he needs some Christmas cheer–and he’ll do anything, including pretending to be her boyfriend, to get back to his solitary alpine refuge as quickly as possible.

As Cantrell gears up for the Christmas Festival, Charlie and Saskia put on a winning performance for their friends and family. But when things start to unravel, they’re faced with an impossible go back to their separate lives, or admit that while they’ve been distracted with fluffy kittens and sleigh rides, this fake relationship has somehow become very real.

Boots, Snow and Mistletoe is sweet, closed-door, packed with heart, and set in the endearing world of the Cantrell Mountain Rescue team.
