About the Author Although she still writes and publishes books & continues to be a support to other survivors of human trafficking, childhood trauma, and addiction - Lisa Jo Symonds’ writing has taken on a new purpose. She is focused on writing & publishing medical research in peer reviewed journals on the following two topics:
1. The lifelong medical & psychological effects of childhood trauma, which leads to 7 out of 10 of the leading causes of death, shortens life expectancy by 20 years, and is reported by 95% of addicts.
2. The science behind addiction and the needed modernization of addiction treatment ideology, methodology, and program interventions.
