Overview
The Hands That Held Me is one survivor's inspirational true story. Readers warn you cannot set this book down. The author openly describes the horrific scenes of domestic violence, drug abuse, and child trafficking that she experienced while growing up. Hundreds of Thousands of children’s lives are being destroyed in child trafficking each year. Often they are given drugs against their will until they find themselves addicted, while suffering abuses and atrocities the normal human mind cannot even imagine! The long-term health and psychological damage is largely irreparable. Survivors want their stories to finally be heard!

About the Author Although she still writes and publishes books & continues to be a support to other survivors of human trafficking, childhood trauma, and addiction - Lisa Jo Symonds’ writing has taken on a new purpose. She is focused on writing & publishing medical research in peer reviewed journals on the following two topics:

1. The lifelong medical & psychological effects of childhood trauma, which leads to 7 out of 10 of the leading causes of death, shortens life expectancy by 20 years, and is reported by 95% of addicts.

2. The science behind addiction and the needed modernization of addiction treatment ideology, methodology, and program interventions.
