Johnny Hayes

It's a story of a boy looking for his father while growing up working as a muleskinner. He travels the west with a man who teaches him not only about being a teamster but a lot about life. They travel first from Bellevue to Omaha to Denver, then from Denver to Santa Fe. With their own freighting outfit, they deliver goods throughout New Mexico braving the wilds of the untamed land, facing banditos and Apaches.
