In the heart of the Midwest on Halloween, some sins aren't forgiven—they’re buried.

Todd Wells and Brett Connerly are the kings of a formidable era of rock and roll—one a rising vocal powerhouse, the other a legendary heavy metal drummer. Driven by adrenaline, ego, and a toxic cocktail of chemicals, they’re tearing through the backroads of Champaign County in a midnight-black Chevy, looking for one last thrill before the sun rises on Halloween.

But "box-bashing" at ninety miles per hour is a dangerous game. When a heavy thud replaces the expected ping of aluminum on metal, the rock stars realize they’ve hit something far more fragile than a mailbox. The tragedy was an accident. The retribution is not.
