Wrong Turns Only

Tashi has spent all her life pretending she doesn’t care that her mother abandoned her when she was a little child.

When the charismatic, unpredictable Anupama, reappears to take Tashi on a three-week mother–daughter road trip down India’s coast, Tashi agrees, wanting closure to the question that has haunted her. What she gets instead is something else.

From the sun-bleached beaches and haunted mansions of Goa to the backwaters of Kerala, from surf breaks in Pondicherry to midnight arguments and unexpected friendships, the journey forces Tashi to confront everything she thought she knew about abandonment, loyalty, and identity.

But while Tashi is chasing answers across highways and coastlines, the person she has always counted on is coming undone. Back home in the mountains of Nainital, one impulsive act by Dhruv, her best friend, her almost-something-more, changes everything, pulling him into a spiral from which even Tashi cannot rescue him.
As old wounds resurface and truths unravel, Tashi must decide if she is brave enough to confront the truth about her mother and if she can show up for Dhruv before he loses himself completely.

Wrong Turns Only is a coming-of-age novel about the messy, beautiful road to becoming who you are.
