Boba Girl

Boba Girl is a short novella about an unnamed young woman who works at a teashop and has an affinity for superhero comic books. With a family to hide from and friends who no longer feel like friends, she doesn't believe she has any special superpowers or even a place in the world, until she meets Rachel. The bubbly girl who starts working alongside her at the teashop helps her discover some hidden power within her, powers that may help her reconnect with her alienated family and distant friendships. Inspired by short and poignant Asian fiction, particularly Japanese fiction, Boba Girl is great for readers who enjoyed Convenience Store Woman and Sweet Bean Paste.
